BIOCHEMISTRY
UNIT–1
Biomolecules, Bioenergetics
Bioenergetics is the part of biochemistry concerned with the energy involved in making and breaking of chemical bonds in the molecules found in biological organisms. It can also be defined as the study of energy relationships and energy transformations and transductions in living organisms.
UNIT–2
Carbohydrate metabolism, Biological oxidation
In summary, oxidation is the process by which carbohydrates are broken down and the energy stored in their chemical bonds is released and used by cells. This process allows cells to generate the energy they need to carry out their functions and maintain their structure and function.
UNIT-3
UNIT–4
Nucleic acid metabolism and genetic information transfer
The Nucleic acid metabolism consists of the DNA metabolism in which there are three main processes, i.e., DNA replication, repair, and recombination. DNA must be duplicated appropriately to maintain genetic code integrity. Errors that occur during or after replication must be corrected.

Enzymes
Enzymes are proteins that help speed up chemical reactions in our bodies. Enzymes are essential for digestion, liver function and much more. Too much or too little of a certain enzyme can cause health problems. Enzymes in our blood can also help healthcare providers check for injuries and diseases.
